Marilyn Marks CPDT - KA, the owner of The Dog Spot Academy, has been training owners to train their dogs for over 20 years. She was a Charter Member (1997) of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers where she served 4 years on the Education Committee that developed the Certified Pet Dog Trainer program, a national test of pet dog training knowledge. She was privledged to be asked to review the ASPCA/Delta Society's Guidelines for Humane Training prior to their being published. During her years as a day care owner she helped the Pet Care Services Association (formerly the ABKA) develop their voluntary standards for day care certification. She currently lives with 3 dogs, all rescues, which her devoted husband has learned to love.
Megan Sartori CPDT-KA is a Qualified Guide Dog Instructor/Trainer through the Fidelco Guide Dog Foundation in Bloomfield, CT. Currently Megan has expanded into her own pet dog training business, The Stellar Dog where she provides puppy management, basic obedience and behavior consultations to pet owners in the greater Hartford area. At the Dog Spot Academy, she teaches in the Levels program, offers Reactive Dog Classes and teaches SPOT SCOUTS workshops. Megan is an insured member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), a Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, member of the New England Disc Dog Club (N.E.D.D.C.), trained in American Red Cross Pet First Aid, and volunteers for Our Companions, Domestic Animal Sanctuary. Megan earned a BA in Business Management from Clark University in 1995 where she was captain of the equestrian team and competed in Intercollegiate Horse Show Association competitions. Megan shares her home with her wonderful husband, two rescue dogs and one rescue cat.
Barbara Rogers has been involved in agility training and competition since the 1990’s. Barbara is White Mountain Agility School (WMAS) certified as an agility instructor. She has been an agility instructor for over seven years and is a founding member of the Southern Berkshire Agility Dogs, Inc. (SoBAD). Teaching classes, workshops, and private lessons, she utilizes positive training methods to achieve advanced levels of success and fun with dogs in agility.
Barbara's own dogs have earned numerous championship title, among which are: the NADAC Agility Trial Championship (NATCH), Outstanding Veterans NATCH, Triple Superior Elite titles, Advanced Agility Dog titles from USDAA, CPE Agility Trial Championships (C-ATCH), and advanced titles in DOCNA, C-ATE, the highest title available in the CPE agility venue.
