What
is Doggy Day Care?
Doggy Day Care is like kindergarten for
dogs. You drop your dog off for the day and we provide an
enriching environment where your dog can play, strengthen his social
interaction skills and enhance her understanding of basic obedience.
There is a 2,700 square foot,
rubber-matted play area where dogs can socialize with each other
and safely play the games that dogs enjoy, like wrestling and
"chase me". The play area is always supervised
so that the "pack leader" can intervene in any squabbles
before they become an issue.
During play time, staff members
teach the dogs to respond individually and as a group to commands,
especially "come". This is necessary for control,
but is obviously beneficial to you in many other situations.
Although play is fun, non-stop
play without a break can be over-stimulating, even to dogs.
So we provide a separate "nap room" where each dog
can be individually crated when it needs or wants to relax.
All dogs are napped mid-day from 12:00 - 2:00.
All dogs entering our program
are interviewed prior to admission so that we can ensure that
each dog is ready and able to socialize in a group of dogs and
people. This allows us to confirm that any given dog is
not likely to react aggressively, or be stressed to the point
of aggression by the day care setting.
